Claremont's Wendy Ramallo thought she had found "it" several times over - California's sun, law school, working at Los Angeles high-profile law firms, Washington DC, the Robert Kennedy Memorial, working with Father Greg Boyle (founder of Home Boy Industries) among other key positions. These all had both financial and spiritual rewards. However, she knew there was something...more. Her innate passion for doing something for someone else, combined with her skills as a lawyer and experience working on gun violence issues was catalyzed by the Uvalde, Texas shooting incident. She almost involuntarily reached out to Moms Demand Action to assist, knowing she had to do...something. Wendy founded the Pomona Valley group as a way of exponentially increasing the local difference she could make.
Wendy was kind enough to press "pause" in her packed schedule one cool, quiet morning and join Claremont Speaks at Studio des Arbres d'Ombre. She recounts the life-journey that brought her to Claremont and then become the spark and driving force...or local coordinator...driving the PVMDA's efforts to reduce gun violence.
