Show Notes

Nancy Mintie, the founder of the Inner City Law Center and Uncommon Good , returns to Claremont Speaks to reveal her lifelong passion for writing poetry about her reflections on social justice and the nature of life and spirituality.  In her new, first book "Poems for a World Yet To Be."  she shares how  her ideas have developed over a lifetime devoted to service and justice, and traces the outline of the world that she hopes to see emerge as people awaken to the beauty and power of what people can create together.

To provide a special treat for our listeners, Nancy brought together several of Claremont's most interesting and eloquent women to join her in reading aloud some favorite passages and exploring their origins and meaning.  Folk music legend Ellen Harper; former Pilgrim Place board director and Napier Initiative administrator Janet Evans, and popular singer, actress and prolific author Eileen Flaxman delight listeners by bringing Nancy's poems to life with riveting, heartfelt and genuine voicing.  Each creates vivid imagery such to be ample cause for re-listening, several times over.

In her signature self-less style, the proceeds from the sale of her book will be donated to Uncommon Good, to further assist and provide food for low income communities and the unhoused.  Nancy's brilliantly crafted prose creates a lasting impression that stays with one long after the reading is done, and instills an appetite for more. Inarguably one of Claremont Speak's most popular guests, Nancey invites the listeners to enjoy the articulate and engaging readings from "Poems for a World Yet To Be" and then share the podcast and book with their very best friends.
