Claremont Speaks
Interview with John Frame; sculptor, filmmaker, photographer, and production designer, currently exhibiting at CMA
Show Notes

John Frame, one of America's leading and most revered sculptors and alumni of Claremont Graduate University,  took some time to talk to Claremont Speaks about his path to becoming a world respected artist, the foundation and inspiration for his works and his breathtaking exhibit which is currently on display at the Claremont Museum of ArtIn between sculpting on a level to which most can only aspire, John set aside some time to give listener's a unique and deeply personal insight into his early career and foundations as an artist.  He includes relating his "epiphany moment" and touches on the motivation for his art that drives him today.  Along the way he intertwines some wonderful anecdotes from his life, career, shows and exhibits.

Mr. Frame is a two-time recipient of Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New Talent Award from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, as well as a J. Paul Getty Museum’s Individual Artist Fellowship.   His deeply inspired, moving and technically brilliant work has been exhibited extensively in the United States as well as in Europe, Japan, and China.  The Claremont Museum of Art (CMA) has been beyond fortunate and privileged to treat Claremont to his work for the last couple of months, with a few more weeks to go.  CMA joins a select group of more than 300 public and private exhibitors and collections, including the:
- Los Angeles County Museum of Art
- Orange County Museum of Art
- Long Beach Museum of Art
-  Palm Springs Desert Museum
- Renwick Gallery of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution
- University of Southern California

The Claremont Museum of Art will be showing John's works through March 20, 2022.
John has been able to provide a unique extra layer to the experience, one not easily found elsewhere, because one can listen to the interview while viewing the exhibit.

If you have already seen the exhibit, this insightful interview will cement it into your memory forever.  If you listen to the interview first, be aware that the most predictable side effect will be a persistent urge to see the exhibit as soon as possible.
